Wind Projects Development (portfolio of over $2 million NZ)

|
At Mighty River Power I spent 15 months in the Wind Development Team coordinating prospecting for new sites and feasibility study investigations. I also developed the project plans and business cases for progressing quality sites into the resource consenting phase.
My role was primarily strategic with the objective of making sure that our engineering investigations were leading us to focus on optimal prospect sites. I was coordinating our work with a number of other teams in the company, consultants, contractors and landowners.
A key part of the feasibility investigations was erecting monitoring masts like the 70m mast shown here. |
Export Chilled Lamb Meat Processing Plant ($35 million NZ)

|
My time at the new Canterbury Meat Packers (CMP) plant near Bulls in the Manawatu involved overseeing completion of construction and the majority of the plant commissioning. There were three significant R&D parts of the project, and the processing chain was a continuous system, with very little redundancy. This meant that the commissioning process was complex and took some months.
Often extremely detailed co-ordination and negotiation was needed between consultants, contractors and the client to get throught the 'teething stage'.
The project is now operating successfully and at full capacity. |
